About Law Off Track
Law Offtrack, as the name does not suggest, is an attempt to study case laws from a point of view which is often neglected in classroom study. That is, the context of the case law. Everyone seems to know what the hon'ble judge said, what was the quorum, what was the ratio, and all that vital stuff. But we forget to visualize the context in which the case erupted and the context in which the judgement was passed, because there is a very high chance that both can be different. Moreover, there are a dozen untold, unobserved stories hidden in case laws, which I believe are worth discussing. I will also write about some topics which may not have case commentary but are so close to my heart that I somehow end up writing about them.

About the Author
Advocate · Sports Aficionado · Public Policy Enthusiast · Commercial and Tax Litigation
Eukti Garg is a lawyer, and a fairly incurable law-enthusiast, the kind who reads a judgment for the part everyone else skims past, and remembers a dissent longer than the majority opinion that buried it. She practices in commercial and tax litigation, but what she's actually chasing here is context: what a judge chose to write between the lines, and what a judgment quietly does to the people who never show up in its cause title.
She puts her own ambition for this space simply: “What Ashleigh Barty did to various sports, I want to do that with law.” It's about walking away from the one script everyone assumes you have to follow, on her own terms, while still being very good at the game. When she isn't doing that, she's a sports aficionado and a public policy enthusiast, which mostly means she'll argue about a Supreme Court bench and a Grand Slam final with equal conviction.
